Greekza Pizza

I am so in love with Greekza Pizza. I made my first one last weekend and since then I have had it two other times. Obsessed? Noooo. Ok, maybe a little, but seriously, I can’t get enough. The garlicky hummus pairs so deliciously well with the Greek-seasoned beef. The pepperoncinis and feta gives it a nice little zip too. If your family likes Mediterranean food and pizza they will love these.

I recommend using Angelic Bakehouse Sprouted Grain Premium Wraps or Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Grain Tortillas. Both are made with clean ingredients and do not contain any sort of dough conditions, preservatives, or artificial ingredients. You will be able to find them at Whole Foods or at most local grocery stores. They are typically located in the freezer section. If you haven’t tried grass-fed beef, I would highly recommend that you do. It has a healthier fat profile and a cleaner taste. It does cost more than conventional beef but you are paying for a higher quality product. As far as cost is concerned, this would be a great recipe to try it in because you only need 1/2 lb. Garlic hummus works really well for this recipe! My favorite kind is Cedar’s Garlic Lovers. You can find it at Whole Foods. Just make sure you get all of your smooching out of the way before dinner. 🙂

This recipe will not disappoint and will likely become part of your regular rotation!

Total Time: 35 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 sprouted wraps (I like Angelic Bakehouse or Ezekiel brand.)
  • 1/2 lb. grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 cup garlic hummus or more
  • 4 pepperoncinis, chopped
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix all seasoning ingredients together (excluding minced garlic).
  2. Heat skillet over medium heat. Add beef and seasoning to skillet. Cook beef for 8-10 minutes or until cooked throughout; drain grease if necessary. Keep warm.
  3. Mix butter with minced garlic. Brush both sides of each wrap with the mixture. Place wraps on a baking sheeting and bake for 3-4 minutes on each side or until sightly browned. Remove from oven.
  4. Top each wrap with a 1/4 cup of hummus and an equal portion of the beef, feta, and pepperoncinis. Bake for 3-4 minutes or until hummus and feta is warmed.

NOTES

Dairy-free: Omit feta. Omit butter and substitute avocado or olive oil.
Gluten-free: Use a gluten-free wrap.
