INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breast, divided into four equal pieces (4 pieces)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup of Italian-seasoned whole wheat bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/8 cup dried basil
- 1 cup pasta sauce
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and basil in a large dish. Rub chicken breast evenly with olive oil. Dip each piece of chicken into bread crumb mixture, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Place chicken breast into a greased baking dish.
- Bake chicken, uncovered, for 30-45 minutes at 375 degrees, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Remove chicken from oven.
- Turn oven to broil. Top each piece of chicken with 1/4 cup sauce and 1 piece of cheese. Put back in oven for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is browned and bubbly.
NOTES
Gluten-free: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
