I wanted to take a minute and talk to you about deodorant.
I am going to assume that you’ve heard you should be using natural deodorant.
Do you know why though? (Don’t worry, you’re not expected to know the specifics!)
One of the main active ingredients in mainstream deodorant is aluminum. Aluminum is a known neurotoxin (a poison that acts on the nervous system) and has been linked with Alzheimer’s, anxiety, depression and more, due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and accumulate in the fatty tissue of your brain. Ummm, what the WHAT.
Yeah, I know. That ain’t good.
Here’s the issue for a lot of people. They are willing to switch BUT natural deodorants don’t always work as well.
Here’s my advice:
Give your body time to adjust. You will likely go through a few-week adjustment period where you’re a little stinky. Drink extra water and Google something called “natural armpit detox.” (Not making this up.)
Be willing to try a few brands. Not every brand works for everyone. Start with one and try it for a month before deciding “yes” or “no.”
Want to know my favorite?
I LOVE Ursa Major!
I had trialed three or four different brands before settling on this one! It glides on, is great for sensitive skin and works for my body chemistry. As far as I know, you can’t find it locally (South Bend, IN) but it can be ordered online. To me, it’s worth the price tag.
Other brands I recommend are Native, Schmidt’s and EO.
